“And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?”

And it happened that, when Jesus had completed these parables, he went away from there.

Is this not the son of a workman? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brothers, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Jude?
And his sisters, are they not all with us? Therefore, from where has this one obtained all these things?”
And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country and in his own house.”
