"And he knew her not, yet she bore her son, the firstborn. And he called his name JESUS. "
— Matthew 1:25, Catholic Public Domain Version
“And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. ”
“and knew her not till she had brought forth a son: and he called his name JESUS. ”
“and didn't know her sexually until she had brought forth her firstborn son. He named him Jesus.”
“but did not have marital relations with her until she gave birth to a son, whom he named Jesus.”
“And he knew her not, till she brought forth her first born son: and he called his name Jesus. ”
“And he had no connection with her till she had given birth to a son; and he gave him the name Jesus.”
“And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. ”
Now all this occurred in order to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:
“Behold, a virgin shall conceive in her womb, and she shall give birth to a son. And they shall call his name Emmanuel, which means: God is with us.”
Then Joseph, arising from sleep, did just as the Angel of the Lord had instructed him, and he accepted her as his wife.
And he knew her not, yet she bore her son, the firstborn. And he called his name JESUS.
