American King James Version
"But when you do alms, let not your left hand know what your right hand does: "
— Matthew 6:3, American King James Version
“But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:”
“But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: ”
“But when you do merciful deeds, don't let your left hand know what your right hand does,”
“But when you do your giving, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,”
“But when thou dost alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doth.”
“But when you give money, let not your left hand see what your right hand does:”
“But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:”
Take heed that you do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise you have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
Therefore when you do your alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.
But when you do alms, let not your left hand know what your right hand does:
That your alms may be in secret: and your Father which sees in secret himself shall reward you openly. ¶
And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.
But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly.
