American King James Version
"You serpents, you generation of vipers, how can you escape the damnation of hell? ¶ "
— Matthew 23:33, American King James Version
“Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?”
“Ye serpents, ye offspring of vipers, how shall ye escape the judgment of hell? ”
“You serpents, you offspring of vipers, how will you escape the judgment of Gehenna?”
“You snakes, you offspring of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?”
“You serpents, generation of vipers, how will you flee from the judgment of hell?”
“You snakes, offspring of snakes, how will you be kept from the punishment of hell?”
“Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?”
And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
Why you be witnesses to yourselves, that you are the children of them which killed the prophets.
Fill you up then the measure of your fathers.
You serpents, you generation of vipers, how can you escape the damnation of hell? ¶
Why, behold, I send to you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them you shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall you whip in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
That on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom you slew between the temple and the altar.
Truly I say to you, All these things shall come on this generation.
