"And he said to them: “Not everyone is able to grasp this word, but only those to whom it has been given. "
— Matthew 19:11, Catholic Public Domain Version
“But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.”
“But he said unto them, Not all men can receive this saying, but they to whom it is given. ”
“But he said to them, "Not all men can receive this saying, but those to whom it is given.”
“He said to them,“Not everyone can accept this statement, except those to whom it has been given.”
“Who said to them: All men take not this word, but they to whom it is given.”
“But he said to them, Not all men are able to take in this saying, but only those to whom it is given.”
“But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.”
He said to them: “Although Moses permitted you to separate from your wives, due to the hardness of your heart, it was not that way from the beginning.
And I say to you, that whoever will have separated from his wife, except because of fornication, and who will have married another, commits adultery, and whoever will have married her who has been separated, commits adultery.”
His disciples said to him, “If such is the case for a man with a wife, then it is not expedient to marry.”
And he said to them: “Not everyone is able to grasp this word, but only those to whom it has been given.
For there are chaste persons who were born so from their mother’s womb, and there are chaste persons who have been made so by men, and there are chaste persons who have made themselves chaste for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Whoever is able to grasp this, let him grasp it.”
Then they brought to him little children, so that he would place his hands upon them and pray. But the disciples rebuked them.
Yet truly, Jesus said to them: “Allow the little children to come to me, and do not choose to prohibit them. For the kingdom of heaven is among such as these.”
