"When John’s messengers had gone, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John:“What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?"

“And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?”
“And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to behold? a reed shaken with the wind? ”

So he answered them,“Go tell John what you have seen and heard: The blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have good news proclaimed to them.
Blessed is anyone who takes no offense at me.”
When John’s messengers had gone, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John:“What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
What did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft clothing? Look, those who wear soft clothing and live in luxury are in the royal palaces!
What did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
This is the one about whom it is written,‘Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.’
