Luke writes "an orderly account" of Jesus' life from a careful historian's pen, with special attention to the poor, the outsider, women, prayer, and the Holy Spirit. From the angelic announcements at the beginning to the Emmaus road at the end, Luke shows Jesus as the Savior of the world.
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted.”
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
“And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.”
