Jesus’ Condemnation and Peter’s Denials Then they arrested Jesus, led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter was following at a distance.
When they had made a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat down among them.
Then a slave girl, seeing him as he sat in the firelight, stared at him and said,“This man was with him too!”
But Peter denied it:“Woman, I don’t know him!”
Then a little later someone else saw him and said,“You are one of them too.” But Peter said,“Man, I am not!”
