— Luke 22:35, Catholic Public Domain Version
“And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.”
“And he said unto them, When I sent you forth without purse, and wallet, and shoes, lacked ye anything? And they said, Nothing. ”
“He said to them, "When I sent you out without purse, and wallet, and shoes, did you lack anything?" They said, "Nothing."”
“Then Jesus said to them,“When I sent you out with no money bag, or traveler’s bag, or sandals, you didn’t lack anything, did you?” They replied,“Nothing.””
“When I sent you without purse and scrip and shoes, did you want anything?”
“And he said to them, When I sent you out without money or bag or shoes, were you in need of anything? And they said, Nothing.”
“And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.”
But I have prayed for you, so that your faith may not fail, and so that you, once converted, may confirm your brothers.”
And he said to him, “Lord, I am prepared to go with you, even to prison and to death.”
And he said, “I say to you, Peter, the rooster will not crow this day, until you have three times denied that you know me.” And he said to them,
“When I sent you without money or provisions or shoes, did you lack anything?”
And they said, “Nothing.” Then he said to them: “But now, let whoever has money take it, and likewise with provisions. And whoever does not have these, let him sell his coat and buy a sword.
For I say to you, that what has been written must still be fulfilled in me: ‘And he was esteemed with the wicked.’ Yet even these things about me have an end.”
So they said, “Lord, behold, there are two swords here.” But he said to them, “It is sufficient.”
