“Show me a denarius. Whose image and superscription hath it? And they said, Cæsar’s. ”
“Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?" They answered, "Caesar's."”

But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them, Why tempt you me?
Show me a penny. Whose image and superscription has it? They answered and said, Caesar’s.
And he said to them, Render therefore to Caesar the things which be Caesar’s, and to God the things which be God’s.
And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marveled at his answer, and held their peace. ¶
