American King James Version
"Truly you bear witness that you allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and you build their sepulchers. "
— Luke 11:48, American King James Version
“Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.”
“So ye are witnesses and consent unto the works of your fathers: for they killed them, and ye build their tombs. ”
“So you testify and consent to the works of your fathers. For they killed them, and you build their tombs.”
“So you testify that you approve of the deeds of your ancestors, because they killed the prophets and you build their tombs!”
“Truly you bear witness that you consent to the doings of your fathers. For they indeed killed them: and you build their sepulchres.”
“So you are witnesses and give approval to the work of your fathers; for they put them to death and you make their last resting-places.”
“Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.”
Then answered one of the lawyers, and said to him, Master, thus saying you reproach us also.
And he said, Woe to you also, you lawyers! for you lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and you yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.
Woe to you! for you build the sepulchers of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
Truly you bear witness that you allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and you build their sepulchers.
Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:
That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
From the blood of Abel to the blood of Zacharias which perished between the altar and the temple: truly I say to you, It shall be required of this generation.
