American King James Version
"For inquire, I pray you, of the former age, and prepare yourself to the search of their fathers: "
— Job 8:8, American King James Version
“For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:”
“ For inquire, I pray thee, of the former age, And apply thyself to that which their fathers have searched out ”
“"Please inquire of past generations. Find out about the learning of their fathers.”
““For inquire now of the former generation, and pay attention to the findings of their ancestors;”
“For inquire of the former generation, and search diligently into the memory of the fathers:”
“Put the question now to the past generations, and give attention to what has been searched out by their fathers:”
“For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:”
If you would seek to God betimes, and make your supplication to the Almighty;
If you were pure and upright; surely now he would awake for you, and make the habitation of your righteousness prosperous.
Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end should greatly increase.
For inquire, I pray you, of the former age, and prepare yourself to the search of their fathers:
(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow:)
Shall not they teach you, and tell you, and utter words out of their heart?
Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?
