"And do you have an arm like God, or a voice like thunder? "
— Job 40:4, Catholic Public Domain Version
“Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.”
“ Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer thee? I lay my hand upon my mouth. ”
“"Behold, I am of small account. What shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.”
““Indeed, I am completely unworthy– how could I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth to silence myself.”
“And hast thou an arm like God, and canst thou thunder with a voice like him?”
“Truly, I am of no value; what answer may I give to you? I will put my hand on my mouth.”
“Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.”
But the Lord, answering Job out of the whirlwind, said:
Gird your waist like a man. I will question you, and you must answer me.
Will you make my judgment null and void; and will you condemn me so that you may be justified?
And do you have an arm like God, or a voice like thunder?
Envelop yourself with splendor, and raise yourself up on high, and be glorious, and put on splendid garments.
Scatter the arrogant with your wrath, and, when you see all the arrogant, humble them.
Look down upon each of the arrogant and confound them, and crush the impious in their place.
