"And the LORD said to Satan, Behold, he is in your hand; but save his life. ¶ "
— Job 2:6, American King James Version
“And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.”
“And Jehovah said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thy hand; only spare his life. ”
“Yahweh said to Satan, "Behold, he is in your hand. Only spare his life."”
“So the LORD said to Satan,“All right, he is in your power; only preserve his life.””
“And the Lord said to Satan: Behold, he is in thy hand, but yet save his life.”
“And the Lord said to the Satan, See, he is in your hands, only do not take his life.”
“And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.”
And the LORD said to Satan, Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that fears God, and eschews evil? and still he holds fast his integrity, although you moved me against him, to destroy him without cause.
And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yes, all that a man has will he give for his life.
But put forth your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face.
And the LORD said to Satan, Behold, he is in your hand; but save his life. ¶
So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot to his crown.
And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself with; and he sat down among the ashes. ¶
Then said his wife to him, Do you still retain your integrity? curse God, and die.
