American King James Version
"He runs on him, even on his neck, on the thick bosses of his bucklers: "
— Job 15:26, American King James Version
“He runneth upon him, even on his neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:”
“He runneth upon him with astiffneck, With the thick bosses of his bucklers; ”
“he runs at him with a stiff neck, with the thick shields of his bucklers;”
“defiantly charging against him with a thick, strong shield!”
“He hath run against him with his neck raised up, and is armed with a fat neck.”
“Running against him like a man of war, covered by his thick breastplate; even like a king ready for the fight,”
“He runneth upon him, even on his neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:”
He wanders abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knows that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
For he stretches out his hand against God, and strengthens himself against the Almighty.
He runs on him, even on his neck, on the thick bosses of his bucklers:
Because he covers his face with his fatness, and makes bulges of fat on his flanks.
And he dwells in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabits, which are ready to become heaps.
He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof on the earth.
