"God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars."
— Genesis 1:16, World English Bible
“And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.”
“And God made the two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he madethe stars also. ”
“God made two great lights– the greater light to rule over the day and the lesser light to rule over the night. He made the stars also.”
“And God made two great lights: a greater light to rule the day; and a lesser light to rule the night: and the stars.”
“And God made the two great lights: the greater light to be the ruler of the day, and the smaller light to be the ruler of the night: and he made the stars.”
“And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.”
There was evening and there was morning, a third day.
God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years;
and let them be for lights in the expanse of sky to give light on the earth;" and it was so.
God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars.
God set them in the expanse of sky to give light to the earth,
and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. God saw that it was good.
There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
