— Ezekiel 27:32, NET Bible
“And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?”
“And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, Who is there like Tyre, like her that is brought to silence in the midst of the sea? ”
“In their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for you, and lament over you, [saying], Who is there like Tyre, like her who is brought to silence in the midst of the sea?”
“And they shall take up a mournful song for thee, and shall lament thee: What city is like Tyre, which is become silent in the midst of the sea?”
“And in their weeping they will make a song of grief for you, sorrowing over you and saying, Who is like Tyre, who has come to an end in the deep sea?”
“And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?”
They will descend from their ships– all who handle the oar, the sailors and all the sea captains– they will stand on the land.
They will lament loudly over you and cry bitterly. They will throw dust on their heads and roll in the ashes;
they will tear out their hair because of you and put on sackcloth, and they will weep bitterly over you with intense mourning.
As they wail they will lament over you, chanting:“Who was like Tyre, like a tower in the midst of the sea?”
