NASB
"But He, being compassionate, forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them; And often He restrained His anger And did not arouse all His wrath."
— Psalms 78:38, NASB
“But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.”
“But he, being merciful, forgave theiriniquity, and destroyedthemnot: Yea, many a time turned he his anger away, And did not stir up all his wrath. ”
“But he, being merciful, forgave iniquity, and didn't destroy them. Yes, many times he turned his anger away, and didn't stir up all his wrath.”
“Yet he is compassionate. He forgives sin and does not destroy. He often holds back his anger, and does not stir up his fury.”
“But he, being full of pity, has forgiveness for sin, and does not put an end to man: frequently turning back his wrath, and not being violently angry.”
“But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.”
And they remembered that God was their rock, And the Most High God their Redeemer.
But they deceived Him with their mouth And lied to Him with their tongue.
For their heart was not steadfast toward Him, Nor were they faithful in His covenant.
But He, being compassionate, forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them; And often He restrained His anger And did not arouse all His wrath.
Thus He remembered that they were but flesh, A wind that passes and does not return.
How often they rebelled against Him in the wilderness And grieved Him in the desert!
Again and again they tempted God, And pained the Holy One of Israel.
