" Why have the Gentiles been seething, and why have the people been pondering nonsense? "
— Psalms 2:1, Catholic Public Domain Version
“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?”
“Why do the nations rage, And the peoples meditate a vain thing? ”
“Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?”
“Why do the nations rebel? Why are the countries devising plots that will fail?”
“Why have the Gentiles raged, and the people devised vain things?”
“Why are the nations so violently moved, and why are the thoughts of the people so foolish?”
“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?”
Why have the Gentiles been seething, and why have the people been pondering nonsense?
The kings of the earth have stood up, and the leaders have joined together as one, against the Lord and against his Christ:
“Let us shatter their chains and cast their yoke away from us.”
He who dwells in heaven will ridicule them, and the Lord will mock them.
