“And shed innocent blood, Even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, Whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan; And the land was polluted with blood. Thus were they defiled with their works, And played the harlot in their doings. Therefore was the wrath of Jehovah kindled against his people, And he abhorred his inheritance. And he gave them into the hand of the nations; And they that hated them ruled over them. Their enemies also oppressed them, And they were brought into subjection under their hand. Many times did he deliver them; But they were rebellious in their counsel, And were brought low in their iniquity. Nevertheless he regarded their distress, When he heard their cry: And he remembered for them his covenant, And repented according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. He made them also to be pitied Of all those that carried them captive. Save us, O Jehovah our God, And gather us from among the nations, To give thanks unto thy holy name, And to triumph in thy praise. They were defiled by their deeds, and unfaithful in their actions. So the LORD was angry with his people and despised the people who belong to him. He handed them over to the nations, and those who hated them ruled over them. Their enemies oppressed them; they were subject to their authority. Many times he delivered them, but they had a rebellious attitude, and degraded themselves by their sin. Yet he took notice of their distress, when he heard their cry for help. He remembered his covenant with them, and relented because of his great loyal love. He caused all their conquerors to have pity on them. Deliver us, O LORD, our God! Gather us from among the nations! Then we will give thanks to your holy name, and boast about your praiseworthy deeds. The LORD God of Israel deserves praise, in the future and forevermore. Let all the people say,“We agree! Praise the LORD!””

Then they were brought to be few: and they were afflicted through the trouble of evils and sorrow. Contempt was poured forth upon their princes: and he caused them to wander where there was no passing, and out of the way. And he helped the poor out of poverty: and made him families like a flock of sheep. The just shall see, and shall rejoice, and all iniquity shall stop her mouth. Who is wise, and will keep these things; and will understand the mercies of the Lord? ”

But when their cry came to his ears, he had pity on their trouble: And kept in mind his agreement with them, and in his great mercy gave them forgiveness. He put pity into the hearts of those who made them prisoners. Be our saviour, O Lord our God, and let us come back together from among the nations, so that we may give honour to your holy name, and have glory in your praise. Praise be to the Lord God of Israel for ever and for ever; and let all the people say, So be it. Give praise to the Lord.”
