"For their perdition shall rise up suddenly. And who knows what ruin will be for each of them? "
— Proverbs 24:22, Catholic Public Domain Version
“For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?”
“For their calamity shall rise suddenly; And the destruction from them both, who knoweth it? ”
“for their calamity will rise suddenly; the destruction from them both--who knows?”
“for suddenly their destruction will overtake them, and who knows the ruinous judgment both the LORD and the king can bring?”
“For their destruction shall rise suddenly: and who knoweth the ruin of both?”
“For their downfall will come suddenly; and who has knowledge of the destruction of those in high positions?”
“For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?”
Do not contend with the most wicked, and do not be a rival to the impious.
For the evil hold no hope in the future, and the lamp of the impious will be extinguished.
My son, fear the Lord, as well as the king. And do not mingle with detractors.
For their perdition shall rise up suddenly. And who knows what ruin will be for each of them?
Likewise, these things are for the wise. It is not good to base judgment on knowledge of character.
Those who say to the impious, “You are just,” shall be cursed by the people, and the tribes shall detest them.
Those who argue against the impious shall be praised, and a blessing shall come upon them.
