"Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and when he stumbles do not let your heart rejoice,"
— Proverbs 24:17, NET Bible
“Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:”
“Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, And let not thy heart be glad when he is overthrown; ”
“Don't rejoice when your enemy falls. Don't let your heart be glad when he is overthrown;”
“When thy enemy shall fall, be not glad, and in his ruin let not thy heart rejoice:”
“Do not be glad at the fall of your hater, and let not your heart have joy at his downfall:”
“Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:”
Likewise, know that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you have found it, you have a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
Do not lie in wait like the wicked against the place where the righteous live; do not assault his home.
Indeed a righteous person will fall seven times, and then get up again, but the guilty will collapse in calamity.
Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and when he stumbles do not let your heart rejoice,
lest the LORD see it, and be displeased, and turn his wrath away from him.
Do not fret because of evil people or be envious of wicked people,
for the evil person has no future, and the lamp of the wicked will be extinguished.
