— Numbers 14:44, NET Bible
“But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.”
“But they presumed to go up to the top of the mountain: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and Moses, departed not out of the camp. ”
“But they presumed to go up to the top of the mountain: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and Moses, didn't depart out of the camp.”
“But they being blinded went up to the top of the mountain. But the ark of the testament of the Lord and Moses departed not from the camp.”
“But they gave no attention to his words and went to the top of the mountain, though Moses and the ark of the Lord's agreement did not go out of the tent-circle.”
“But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.”
But Moses said,“Why are you now transgressing the commandment of the LORD? It will not succeed!
Do not go up, for the LORD is not among you, and you will be defeated before your enemies.
For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and you will fall by the sword. Because you have turned away from the LORD, the LORD will not be with you.”
But they dared to go up to the crest of the hill, although neither the ark of the covenant of the LORD nor Moses departed from the camp.
So the Amalekites and the Canaanites who lived in that hill country swooped down and attacked them as far as Hormah.
