"The rest turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon, but they caught 5,of them on the highways and overtook them at Gidom and killed 2,000 of them."
— Judges 20:45, NASB
“And they turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and pursued hard after them unto Gidom, and slew two thousand men of them.”
“And they turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men, and followed hard after them unto Gidom, and smote of them two thousand men. ”
“They turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men, and followed hard after them to Gidom, and struck of them two thousand men.”
“The rest turned and ran toward the wilderness, heading toward the cliff of Rimmon. But the Israelites caught five thousand of them on the main roads. They stayed right on their heels all the way to Gidom and struck down two thousand more.”
“And when they that remained of Benjamin saw this, they fled into the wilderness, and made towards the rock that is called Remmon. In that flight also, as they were straggling, and going different ways; they slew of them five thousand men. And as they went farther, they still pursued them, and slew also other two thousand.”
“And turning, they went in flight to the rock of Rimmon in the waste land: and on the highways five thousand of them were cut off by the men of Israel, who, pushing on hard after them to Geba, put to death two thousand more.”
“And they turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and pursued hard after them unto Gidom, and slew two thousand men of them.”
Therefore, they turned their backs before the men of Israel toward the direction of the wilderness, but the battle overtook them while those who came out of the cities destroyed them in the midst of them.
They surrounded Benjamin, pursued them without rest and trod them down opposite Gibeah toward the east.
Thus 18,men of Benjamin fell; all these were valiant warriors.
The rest turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon, but they caught 5,of them on the highways and overtook them at Gidom and killed 2,000 of them.
So all of Benjamin who fell that day were 25,men who draw the sword; all these were valiant warriors.
But men turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon, and they remained at the rock of Rimmon four months.
The men of Israel then turned back against the sons of Benjamin and struck them with the edge of the sword, both the entire city with the cattle and all that they found; they also set on fire all the cities which they found.
