American King James Version
"And the Jews marveled, saying, How knows this man letters, having never learned? "
— John 7:15, American King James Version
“And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?”
“The Jews therefore marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? ”
“The Jews therefore marveled, saying, "How does this man know letters, having never been educated?"”
“Then the Jewish leaders were astonished and said,“How does this man know so much when he has never had formal instruction?””
“And the Jews wondered, saying: How doth this man know letters, having never learned?”
“Then the Jews were surprised and said, How has this man got knowledge of books? He has never been to school.”
“And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?”
And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, No; but he deceives the people.
However, no man spoke openly of him for fear of the Jews. ¶
Now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
And the Jews marveled, saying, How knows this man letters, having never learned?
Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
He that speaks of himself seeks his own glory: but he that seeks his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
