"For as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that it was necessary for him to rise again from the dead. "
— John 20:9, Catholic Public Domain Version
“For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.”
“For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. ”
“For as yet they didn't know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.”
“(For they did not yet understand the scripture that Jesus must rise from the dead.)”
“For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.”
“For at that time they had no knowledge that the Writings said that he would have to come again from the dead.”
“For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.”
Then Simon Peter arrived, following him, and he entered the tomb, and he saw the linen cloths lying there,
and the separate cloth which had been over his head, not placed with the linen cloths, but in a separate place, wrapped up by itself.
Then the other disciple, who had arrived first at the tomb, also entered. And he saw and believed.
For as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that it was necessary for him to rise again from the dead.
Then the disciples went away again, each by himself.
But Mary was standing outside the tomb, weeping. Then, while she was weeping, she bowed down and gazed into the tomb.
And she saw two Angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had been placed, one at the head, and one at the feet.
