"And when he has arrived, he will argue against the world, about sin and about justice and about judgment:"
— John 16:8, Catholic Public Domain Version
“And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”
“And he, when he is come, will convict the world in respect of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: ”
“When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment;”
“And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong concerning sin and righteousness and judgment–”
“And when he is come, he will convince the world of sin and of justice and of judgment.”
“And he, when he comes, will make the world conscious of sin, and of righteousness, and of being judged:”
“And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”
But I did not tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you. And now I am going to him who sent me. And no one among you has asked me, ‘Where are you going?’
But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.
But I tell you the truth: it is expedient for you that I am going. For if I do not go, the Advocate will not come to you. But when I will have gone away, I will send him to you.
And when he has arrived, he will argue against the world, about sin and about justice and about judgment:
about sin, indeed, because they have not believed in me;
about justice, truly, because I am going to the Father, and you will not see me any longer;
about judgment, then, because the prince of this world has already been judged.
