— John 13:7, American King James Version
“Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.”
“Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt understand hereafter. ”
“Jesus answered him, "You don't know what I am doing now, but you will understand later."”
“Jesus replied,“You do not understand what I am doing now, but you will understand after these things.””
“Jesus answered and said to him: What I do, thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.”
“And Jesus, answering, said to him, What I do is not clear to you now, but it will be clear to you in time to come.”
“Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.”
He rises from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
After that he pours water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded.
Then comes he to Simon Peter: and Peter says to him, Lord, do you wash my feet?
Jesus answered and said to him, What I do you know not now; but you shall know hereafter.
Peter says to him, You shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash you not, you have no part with me.
Simon Peter says to him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
Jesus says to him, He that is washed needs not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and you are clean, but not all.
