American King James Version
"They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. "
— Jeremiah 6:14, American King James Version
“They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.”
“They have healed also the hurt of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. ”
“They have healed also the hurt of my people superficially, saying, 'Peace, peace!' when there is no peace.”
“They offer only superficial help for the harm my people have suffered. They say,‘Everything will be all right!’ But everything is not all right!”
“And they healed the breach of the daughter of my people disgracefully, saying: Peace, peace: and there was no peace.”
“And they have made little of the wounds of my people, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.”
“They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.”

And their houses shall be turned to others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand on the inhabitants of the land, says the LORD.

Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? no, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, says the LORD.
Thus says the LORD, Stand you in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Listen to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not listen. ¶
