"Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words to me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book."
— Jeremiah 36:18, World English Bible
“Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.”
“Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book. ”
“Baruch answered,“Yes, they came from his own mouth. He dictated all these words to me and I wrote them down in ink on this scroll.””
“And Baruch said to them: With his mouth he pronounced all these words as if he were reading to me: and I wrote in a volume with ink.”
“Then Baruch, answering, said, He said all these things to me by word of mouth, and I put them down with ink in the book.”
“Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.”
They said to him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.
Now it happened, when they had heard all the words, they turned in fear one toward another, and said to Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.
They asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How did you write all these words at his mouth?
Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words to me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.
Then the princes said to Baruch, Go, hide, you and Jeremiah; and let no man know where you are.
They went in to the king into the court; but they had laid up the scroll in the room of Elishama the scribe; and they told all the words in the ears of the king.
So the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll; and he took it out of the room of Elishama the scribe. Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes who stood beside the king.
