American King James Version
"Behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, that use their tongues, and says, He said. "
— Jeremiah 23:31, American King James Version
“Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.”
“Behold, I am against the prophets, saith Jehovah, that use their tongues, and say, He saith. ”
“Behold, I am against the prophets, says Yahweh, who use their tongues, and say, He says.”
“I, the LORD, affirm that I am opposed to those prophets who are using their own tongues to declare,‘The LORD declares….’”
“Behold I am against the prophets, saith the Lord: who use their tongues, and say: The Lord saith it.”
“See, I am against the prophets, says the Lord, who let their tongues say, He has said.”
“Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.”
The prophet that has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? says the LORD.
Is not my word like as a fire? says the LORD; and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbor.
Behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, that use their tongues, and says, He said.
Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, says the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, says the LORD. ¶
And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask you, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? you shall then say to them, What burden? I will even forsake you, says the LORD.
And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the LORD, I will even punish that man and his house.
