American King James Version
"Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. ¶ "
— Jeremiah 1:6, American King James Version
“Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.”
“Then said I, Ah, Lord Jehovah! behold, I know not how to speak; for I am a child. ”
“Then I said, "Ah, Lord Yahweh! Behold, I don't know how to speak; for I am a child."”
“I answered,“Oh, Sovereign LORD, Really I do not know how to speak well enough for that, for I am too young.””
“And I said: Ah, ah, ah, Lord God: behold, I cannot speak, for I am a child.”
“Then said I, O Lord God! see, I have no power of words, for I am a child.”
“Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.”
It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, to the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, to the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Before I formed you in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you, and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.
Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. ¶
But the LORD said to me, Say not, I am a child: for you shall go to all that I shall send you, and whatever I command you you shall speak.
Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with you to deliver you, says the LORD.
Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said to me, Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.
