“And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the Lord had made his journey prosperous or not.”
“And the man looked stedfastly on her, holding his peace, to know whether Jehovah had made his journey prosperous or not. ”
“The man looked steadfastly at her, remaining silent, to know whether Yahweh had made his journey prosperous or not.”
“But he musing, beheld her with silence, desirous to know whether the Lord had made his journey prosperous or not.”

“Drink, my lord,” she replied, and quickly lowering her jug to her hands, she gave him a drink.
When she had done so, she said,“I’ll draw water for your camels too, until they have drunk as much as they want.”
She quickly emptied her jug into the watering trough and ran back to the well to draw more water until she had drawn enough for all his camels.

After the camels had finished drinking, the man took out a gold nose ring weighing a beka and two gold wrist bracelets weighing ten shekels and gave them to her.

She said to him,“I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, whom Milcah bore to Nahor.
