American King James Version
"You shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall you make to you gods of gold. ¶ "
— Exodus 20:23, American King James Version
“Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.”
“Ye shall not make other gods with me; gods of silver, or gods of gold, ye shall not make unto you. ”
“You shall most certainly not make alongside of me gods of silver, or gods of gold for yourselves.”
“You must not make gods of silver alongside me, nor make gods of gold for yourselves.”
“You shall not make gods of silver, nor shall you make to yourselves gods of gold.”
“Gods of silver and gods of gold you are not to make for yourselves.”
“Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.”
And Moses said to the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that you sin not.
And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was. ¶
And the LORD said to Moses, Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, You have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
You shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall you make to you gods of gold. ¶
An altar of earth you shall make to me, and shall sacrifice thereon your burnt offerings, and your peace offerings, your sheep, and your oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come to you, and I will bless you.
And if you will make me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stone: for if you lift up your tool on it, you have polluted it.
Neither shall you go up by steps to my altar, that your nakedness be not discovered thereon.
