“And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the Lord said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron.”
“And it came to pass after this, that David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And Jehovah said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron. ”
“David is Anointed King Afterward David inquired of the LORD,“Should I go up to one of the cities of Judah?” The LORD told him,“Go up.” David asked,“Where should I go?” The LORD replied,“To Hebron.””

So David went up there, and his two wives also, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
David brought up his men who were with him, every man with his household. They lived in the cities of Hebron.
The men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. They told David, saying, "The men of Jabesh Gilead were those who buried Saul."
