American King James Version
"And that you study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; "
— 1 Thessalonians 4:11, American King James Version
“And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;”
“and that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your hands, even as we charged you; ”
“and that you make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we instructed you;”
“to aspire to lead a quiet life, to attend to your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you.”
“And that you use your endeavour to be quiet: and that you do your own business and work with your own hands, as we commanded you: and that you walk honestly towards them that are without: and that you want nothing of any man's.”
“And that you may take pride in being quiet and doing your business, working with your hands as we gave you orders;”
“And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;”
He therefore that despises, despises not man, but God, who has also given to us his holy Spirit.
But as touching brotherly love you need not that I write to you: for you yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
And indeed you do it toward all the brothers which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brothers, that you increase more and more;
And that you study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
That you may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that you may have lack of nothing.
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning them which are asleep, that you sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
