“Now there dwelt an old prophet in Beth–el; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Beth–el: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father.”

But the prophet said to the king,“Even if you were to give me half your possessions, I would not go with you. I am not allowed to eat food or drink water in this place.
For this is how I was commanded in the LORD’s message,‘Eat no food. Drink no water. And do not return by the way you came.’”
So he started back on another road; he did not travel back on the same road he had taken to Bethel.
Now there was an old prophet living in Bethel. When his sons came home, they told him everything the prophet had done in Bethel that day. And they told their father all the words that he had spoken to the king.
Their father asked them,“Which road did he take?” His sons showed him the road the prophet from Judah had taken.
He then told his sons,“Saddle the donkey for me.” When they had saddled the donkey for him, he mounted it
and took off after the prophet, whom he found sitting under an oak tree. He asked him,“Are you the prophet from Judah?” He answered,“Yes, I am.”
