"And I want you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord."
— 1 Corinthians 7:32, NET Bible
“But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:”
“But I would have you to be free from cares. He that is unmarried is careful for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord: ”
“But I desire to have you to be free from cares. He who is unmarried is concerned for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord;”
“But I would have you to be without solicitude. He that is without a wife is solicitous for the things that belong to the Lord: how he may please God.”
“But it is my desire for you to be free from cares. The unmarried man gives his mind to the things of the Lord, how he may give pleasure to the Lord:”
“But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:”
And I say this, brothers and sisters: The time is short. So then those who have wives should be as those who have none,
those with tears like those not weeping, those who rejoice like those not rejoicing, those who buy like those without possessions,
those who use the world as though they were not using it to the full. For the present shape of this world is passing away.
And I want you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord.
But a married man is concerned about the things of the world, how to please his wife,
and he is divided. An unmarried woman or a virgin is concerned about the things of the Lord, to be holy both in body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the things of the world, how to please her husband.
I am saying this for your benefit, not to place a limitation on you, but so that without distraction you may give notable and constant service to the Lord.
