"Do good, O Lord, to the good and to the upright of heart. "
— Psalms 124:4, Catholic Public Domain Version
“Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:”
“Then the waters had overwhelmed us, The stream had gone over our soul; ”
“then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul;”
“The water would have overpowered us; the current would have overwhelmed us.”
“Do good, O Lord, to those that are good, and to the upright of heart.”
“We would have been covered by the waters; the streams would have gone over our soul;”
“Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:”
A Canticle in steps. Those who trust in the Lord will be like the mountain of Zion. He will not be disturbed for eternity, who dwells
in Jerusalem. Mountains surround it. And the Lord surrounds his people, from this time forward and even forever.
For the Lord will not allow the rod of sinners to remain over the lot of the just, so that the just may not extend their hands toward iniquity.
Do good, O Lord, to the good and to the upright of heart.
But those who turn away into obligation, the Lord will lead away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel.
