" A Canticle in steps. Those who trust in the Lord will be like the mountain of Zion. He will not be disturbed for eternity, who dwells "
— Psalms 124:1, Catholic Public Domain Version
“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;”
“ If it had not been Jehovah who was on our side, Let Israel now say, ”
“If it had not been Yahweh who was on our side, let Israel now say,”
“A song of ascents, by David.“If the LORD had not been on our side”– let Israel say this!–”
“A gradual canticle. They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Sion: he shall not be moved for ever that dwelleth”
“ If it had not been the Lord who was on our side (let Israel now say);”
“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;”
A Canticle in steps. Those who trust in the Lord will be like the mountain of Zion. He will not be disturbed for eternity, who dwells
in Jerusalem. Mountains surround it. And the Lord surrounds his people, from this time forward and even forever.
For the Lord will not allow the rod of sinners to remain over the lot of the just, so that the just may not extend their hands toward iniquity.
Do good, O Lord, to the good and to the upright of heart.
