"However, I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate. "
— Jeremiah 44:4, American King James Version
“Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.”
“Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate. ”
“However I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Oh, don't do this abominable thing that I hate.”
“I sent my servants the prophets to you people over and over again warning you not to do this disgusting thing I hate.”
“And I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early, and sending, and saying: Do not commit this abominable thing, which I hate.”
“And I sent all my servants the prophets to you, getting up early and sending them, saying, Do not do this disgusting thing which is hated by me.”
“Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.”

Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, you, nor your fathers.
However, I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.
But they listened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense to other gods.
Why my fury and my anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day.
