American King James Version
"So I spoke to the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded. ¶ "
— Ezekiel 24:18, American King James Version
“So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.”
“So I spake unto the people in the morning; and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded. ”
“So I spoke to the people in the morning; and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.”
“So I spoke to the people in the morning, and my wife died in the evening. In the morning I acted just as I was commanded.”
“So I spoke to the people in the morning, and my wife died in the evening: and I did in the morning as he had commanded me.”
“So in the morning I was teaching the people and in the evening death took my wife; and in the morning I did what I had been ordered to do.”
“So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.”
Also the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Son of man, behold, I take away from you the desire of your eyes with a stroke: yet neither shall you mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.
Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of your head on you, and put on your shoes on your feet, and cover not your lips, and eat not the bread of men.
So I spoke to the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded. ¶
And the people said to me, Will you not tell us what these things are to us, that you do so?
Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Speak to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left shall fall by the sword.
