"He has predestined us to adoption as sons, through Jesus Christ, in himself, according to the purpose of his will, "
— Ephesians 1:5, Catholic Public Domain Version
“Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,”
“having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, ”
“having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire,”
“He did this by predestining us to adoption as his legal heirs through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure of his will–”
“Who hath predestinated us unto the adoption of children through Jesus Christ unto himself: according to the purpose of his will:”
“As we were designed before by him for the position of sons to himself, through Jesus Christ, in the good pleasure of his purpose,”
“Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,”
Grace and peace to you from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens, in Christ,
just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy and immaculate in his sight, in charity.
He has predestined us to adoption as sons, through Jesus Christ, in himself, according to the purpose of his will,
for the praise of the glory of his grace, with which he has gifted us in his beloved Son.
In him, we have redemption through his blood: the remission of sins in accord with the riches of his grace,
which is superabundant in us, with all wisdom and prudence.
